MICROSOFT SURPRISE EVENT RUMORS SPREADING TWO NEW LUMIA PHONES
ZDNet is ideally reporting that a big Microsoft event could be coming in November,2015 with lots of magnificent hardware announcements. In addition to new Surface tablets, two Lumia phones could be unveiled. These are assumed to be two Windows 10 Mobile phones: The CityMan and TalkMan.
Microsoft’s
latest Windows Phone Surprise Event
As
it was promised by Microsoft, they have started rolling out the second build of
the Windows 10 for mobile phones. The product is coming out to Windows insider
users and as it was expected, it comes with an early version of the new Spartan
browser for mobile phones. It is said that it supports all Lumia phones but not
Lumia Icon. Other non- supporting phones include 930 and 640XL. Microsoft
through its blog post tries to explain this bug as a scaling problem. The blog
explains that the scaling issue on certain devices makes the UI too small to be
usable and that they will add code to support new scaling thresholds for these
devices.
Regarding
the Microsoft phones manufactured by OEMs, they are also excluded from the
supported devices list. On the bright side, the early version of Project
Spartan (which uses new rendering engine and claims to give greater
interoperability with the modern mobile web) is now a part of the package. Besides
this, early version of Reading list and Reading view are now made available.
Internet Explorer (IE11) still remains the default browser and Spartan exists
as a separate browser for now.
Outlook Mail and Outlook
Calendar are a part of the package and can be seen as the new built in mail and
calendar universal apps for Windows 10. These applications aim to give the
users a refreshing experience of the new user interface (UI). Switching between
these two apps is now very smooth. It comes with toggle to freely move between
email and calendar without the need to returning to the Start screen. The
Outlook Mail features customisable swipe gestures along with new email
authorising experience. You will find many functions of MS Word being imbibed
in Outlook Mail. It will support formatting like inserting tables, adding
pictures, using bullets and much more.
New visual designs have been
given to the new Phone and Messaging apps. The revived universal People app
also gets a new visual design. It will continue to give the comprehensive list
of all the contacts across various services one uses such as Outlook. Gmail,
Facebook etc.
The company has also
displayed the first preview of the new Maps app. The company claims to have
included the best maps with aerial imagery and very rich local data. It
promises a better voice guided navigation experience as they integrate Bing and
HERE maps for the first time into a single app exclusively for Windows.
